19 Contests Won and It’s Flaming Hot

    Well finally, after not winning for a couple of weeks, I grabbed another win. This time its for an Ecomerce/Consulting website for a well pierced and inked guy named Dustin with a URL of (of course) dustin.net.

       What’s special about this contest is that the CH actually said that I was the perfect designer for his logo, a logo which frankly fun to create to begin with. I mean, come on, it involves tribal flames, piercings and a goatee. Who wouldn’t find that interesting? A sad thing about it is that it was also a place for one designer to ripp off my designs. This designer has been pissing off people at 99designs and its really getting old. We are all waiting for his account to be deleted on the site so somehow he would learn a lesson. I know who he is and I know he knows that I know. Get it? haha! Well what comes around.. really does come arround. You’ll get whats coming to you!

Superman is planned to get a Reboot

    If you have seen the last Superman Film which was Superman Returns, chances are that you are more than likely have been unsatisfied. I mean the grandest Superhero of all time was scaled down to a peeping stalker for his ex-girlfriend. The only great thing in that film was Kevin Spacey but even Lex Luthor wasn’t really given justice by the story.

    And recently I have encountered a great news (through IGN.com) that Warner, the studio that holds the right to the Superman Franchise, confirmed that they are indeed planning on restarting the franchise. Warner Bros. Pictures Group President Jeff Robinov was qouted stating that Superman Returns “didn’t quite work as a film in the way that we wanted it to. … It didn’t position the character the way he needed to be positioned.” I couldn’t agree more with Robinov. My favorite part of the news is that because of the monumental success of Batman’s latest film, The Dark Knight, Warner wants the Man of Steel to follow the Caped Crusader’s lead that it is going to be treated with a dark tone. Robinove went as far as saying that they are “going to try to go dark to the extent that the characters allow it,” referring to future DC character films including Superman.

    This is wonderful news as going dark would give Superman a fresh treatment which is exactly a reboot should be.The only thing I could think of wishing right now is these DC films could somehow be interlocked with each other to pave the way for a possible Justice League movie. How awesome would that be?!

I switched from SmartBro to PLDT MyDSL and I’m much HAPPIER!! :)

    For over a year I suffered from the so called “Number 1 Broadband” internet connection in the Philippines which is SmartBro. Well of course its number 1. How many Internet Sevce Providers offer Broadband here in the country? So let me tell you, it aint much. For everytime there is storm (and there were a lot for the past year) I’d have to put up with the on and off connection of my ISP. But wait, it didn’t even need storms sometimes for it to mess up. There were times that I can only access a few websites. One of those sites were Youtube yet I can’t even load a damn video. And to top it all off, you might want to keep in mind that most of my income comes from the net. So basically, its ruining my livelihood.

    “When why didn’t you call up the company?” you might ask! I did! I even went to them personally to nag about it and the agent told me to call their hotline because to be honest, they can’t answer any of my questions. Why are they working their in the first place??? So Smart was able to call me up and take my questions and viola… They told me that that’s the way it is since the connection is wireless and the weather could have significant effects. DUH?! I knew that! So I concluded that  the only solution is to switch ISPs. So after some asking around, I found out which connection would be good especially in my particular location. It is PLDT’s MyDSL.

    When my 1 year contract with SmartBro ended, I applied for MyDSL and behold as my life became more beautiful!   I no longer have to wait for Youtube to load, now it waits for me to start watching. And my downloads?It goes as high as 180Kbps. That’s the way it’s supposed to be! Well, another lesson learned about which product to acquire. How about you? Which ISP made you happy?
